Latino Book Club

Guiding Principles

The CIELO Book Club is dedicated to promoting Latino literature by reading books written by Latino Authors, preferably on Latino related subjects.

  • The idea is for members to share their favorite authors and/or editions, share their reactions to what they have read, and to promote diversity in reading Latino literature
  • It is not required that the books be written in Spanish so as to broaden the audience of our membership
  • People from all ethnic backgrounds are welcome to join the book club, but all club members must be CIELO organization members

The club usually meets monthly with each member assuming the host responsibilities on a rotating basis. The host for next month is responsible for recommending this month the book each of the members are to read.  In 2016, the book club is meeting at Aztca Restaurant in the Montvale Shopping Center (near Schucks Foods on Iles & Chatham Rd, Spfld).  For exact dates and times, contact Luz Lopez, 217-415-2097.
